Mɛwɔ yaa lɛ (I am baffled) for SATB chorus was composed prior to 1933 based on the shifting meters in the original, which is a characteristic of his earlier works. It is one of Amu’s miscellaneous songs. Amu composed this song on the death of one of his brothers. Because of the emotional effect it had on him, he decided never again to compose a work such as this.
