Wopɛ Onyame asɛ no for SATB chorus was composed October 2, 1930, and is one of Amu’s sacred songs. In this song, Amu makes use of the proverb “Ɔkɔtɔ nwo anomaa,” which translates to English as “the crab does not give birth to the bird.” Amu is cautioning his listeners to aspire to be like God.
