The African Choral Ensemble is a leading musical group in New England dedicated to celebrating and preserving Africa’s diverse choral traditions, especially Ghanaian music. Established in 2024 by Rev. Dr. John Wesley Dankwa, the ensemble blends traditional African music with contemporary choral forms, highlighting the artistry of African composers, particularly from Ghana.
Founded and directed by Dr. James Varrick Armaah, this award-winning interdenominational choral group in Accra, Ghana, specializes in classical and choral music. Their mission is to spread the gospel and bring lost souls to Christ through a diverse music repertoire. Established in 2007, the choir is chaired by Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee, founder of Salt and Light Ministries.
The Potter’s Touch Chorale is a mixed-voice ensemble in Accra, Ghana, directed by Rev. Dennis Quophi Amakye. Committed to musical excellence and deepening faith, the chorale nurtures young talent and engages in community service. Their motto is: “Harmonizing Hearts, Resonating Faith: Ministering God’s Word through Song.”
The African Choral Ensemble will be performing as part of the West African Art Music at the NEC festival in Boston.
